Hi everybody, just got my trackIR 5 yesterday and tried using it with flightsim x, however I have notice a dramatic decrease in performance - compared to 30-50 fps that I got before, I am now getting 10-20 in cockpit. I have also noticed that one I startup the trackIR 5 software with no games or anything running - my cpu usage jumps to an average of 20-50%, which is very weird, because I saw on the forums that it shouldn't increase the cpu usage more than 5%.

My specs: q6600 2.4Ghz Quad CPU, 4GB ram (3.2 usable), 5850 Radeon gpu, P5N32-E SLi motherboard

Any advice would be much appreciated

Make sure that you are running the IR software, minimized, when runnig a gaming application.

What video card drivers are you using?

Thanks! That seems to reduce the cpu load from around 30-50% to around 2-10% - so I guess that solves the problem! 8D

I've got catalyst 10.6 by the way..
