I recently bought a new windows seven computer. I transferred my old SmartNav 3 on to my new computer and downloaded the most recent software. The first time I used SmartNav it tracked fine,But when I opened the program again the green light blinked and then went off and I could no longer track. I tried unplugging the USB plug and plugging it back in but when I restarted SmartNave I got the same results. Next, I tried plugging it in to another USB port and it worked fine. After using it a couple of times In the new USB Port, I opened it up again and I got the same problem as before. I looked on the troubleshooting page and there was a problem similar to mine. It said to make sure to Uncheck the "Key Activated" box on the main software screen. The only place on the SmartNav program I see a box that says � key activated� is under Control panel/behavior and that box was unchecked. I would appreciate any help on this.

Is this a laptop, or desktop system?

Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.
