Hi, i was planning to buy optitrack motion capture bundle for myself. so i was checking some cameras in optitrack, there mentioned max resolution was like 832 x 832. Actually this resolution will be useful in which aspect,if it was higher. Some other motion capture cameras were offering more than 2000 x 2000 resolution. I wanna know what is the difference between them.

Hi a higher resolution would allow for a larger capture volume, so more room to move about, and greater data accuracy.

As Don mentioned, more resolution can be useful if you're planning on doing motion capture in very large volumes (for instance, capturing a basketball court full of players like EA does in their Canada studio).

Since the majority of motion capture tasks can take place in smaller studios, we've chosen to currently focus on optimizing our VGA and SVGA cameras. This is one of the key reasons that we're able to offer mocap systems at a much lower price compared to other vendors ($1,899 for our new S250e camera, versus $22,500 for a single Vicon T40 camera, which has roughly the resolution you mentioned).
