In the event of a hardware failure..

Purchased a TIR5 and TrackClip Pro in May 2009, I used the TIR5 without incident on my old computer and then on my laptop.
Recently I got a new computer i7,Ati5870, reinstalled the TIR5, software runs, but no points in the camera view and no lights on the unit. I purchased the TIR5 from an authorized dealer in Canada on 21May 2009, I read on your website that the unit is covered under a 1 year limited warranty. Unfortunately my unit is now 1 year 3 months old.
In the event of a hardware failure after the warranty period, can the unit be repaired?
Cheers

Unfortunately we currently do not have a repair service for the TrackIR cameras.

Is it possible to send the camera to Natural Point to have it tested to confirm it is a hardware failure?

Shortly after this post in Aug 2010, I uninstalled the Track IR, reinstalled and it worked !!!
Then a few days ago I bought an SSD and created a new user account just for my flight sims. Installed all my flight programs on the the new "F" drive and they all worked great.
Uninstalled the TrackIR5 from my "C" drive, downloaded Version 5.0B, Followed standard install and reinstalled 5.0B on my "F" drive and nothing... Software starts, The Trackclip Pro is on but no lights on the IR5.
So I uninstalled it from the "F" drive and reinstalled it on the "C" drive and nothing... Software starts, The Trackclip Pro is on but no lights on the IR5.

Ok , got it reinstalled on the C: Drive using 5.1 beta 3
Check and track IR is showing on the Device list
When I start as administator I get dual red lights and device recognized
When I start as normal (not as administrator), I get a green light, flash on then off and no device regognized
Thoughts ???

I would try uninstalling the TrackIR 5.1 Beta 03 software, and re-installing it, however when you run the installation, right click on the installer and select run as administrator.

Hi Mike
Thanks for your response.
I got it running

Just to sum up what happened, Last week I bought an SSD and created a new user account just for my flight sims.
I checked and track IR is showing on the Device list
When I tried to start as administrator I got dual red lights and device recognized but unit wouldnt run
When I tried starting as normal (not as administrator), I get a green light, flash on then off and no device recognized
Last night, I uninstalled the software and deleted the natural point folder.
I then restarted my computer
I then reinstalled the Version 5.0-Final B on my C: drive,
but I did not select the Document check box
and did not select the profiles check box
Once the software loaded, again I restarted my computer
When the computer restarted, I plugged in the usb
The unit started up and software ran
Sorry for the long explanation, I hope that it may help you and others trying to assess the same issue
Cheers
