TRack ir 5 and FSX

Just got a shiny new track ir 5, downloaded and installed the software, and set it all up. The problem is when I am in the virtual cackpit in FSX, head movement makes no difference to the view, but the sound pans to reflect the movement.
Am I missing something here?
All drivers are up to date, only Mcafee in the background running. USB plugged directly into the PC (No hub).
Any advice greatly accepted.

What version of FSX are you using?
Do you have SP1/SP2 installed?
What version of Windows?

I also had an issue with FSX, TrackIR and Mcafee, which was caused by Mcafee blocking communications with FSX via simconnect.
This was only resolved when I rebuilt my PC and switched to another AV program. I could never get Mcafee to fully switch off.
I don't know whether this is also your problem though.

FSX with both SPs on. All drivers up to date. Maybe I should try to kill Mcaffee prior to running FSX etc. Will post back the result this weekend.
It was suggested via a phone call with the vendor that I put a PCI USB expansion card in to force tracir to use a different channel. Worth a go I suppose as I have a spare!

....well, that didnt work, this is getting very frustrating. There doesnt seem to be a problem with the Track ir, it works perfectly in the software, which is making things even more frustrating. I cant fit the PCI USB expansion as I have no free slots on my mobo! Any futher suggestions?

What version of Windows are you running?
If you look in the Windows folder/Winsxs/ How many simconnect folders do you see?
What are the folder names?

Cant see any simconnect folders. Is it possible that Mcafee blocked the installation?

It shouldn't block a simconnect install, but it has been known to block the simconnect ntwork connection.
If the simconnect folders aren't there, then youhave a bad install of FSX

So do I need to uninstal everything and start from scratch? I dont understand why this can be, I installed FSX using only the default paths, and the same for my photographic scnery. Should I take it all off and start again?

Before I spend a day re installing everything, am I right thinking that the simconnect folders would be near the bottom of the list in the Winsxs folder? If so, there are none.
