Partial loss of TrackIR 3/5

Hello,

I recently purchased TrackIR 5 to use the 6FOV functionality. I had my TIR3 for years, never any problems, Still have it and it still looks like i just purchased it. Only bad thing I can say about it is once you have , you get ruined and dont/cant fly with out it...

But software wise (Im assuming) at random occasions, I hear the dreaded windows 'ding' sound for 'found new hardware', of course while Im in sim, saving the world. Sometimes I lose TIR for a just a sceond, the right diode goes out (game detect indicator diode) and I can continue to fly, but I quickly land and reboot.

Sometimes, I hear the windows found new hardware sound while in game and TrackIR does not come back 'online'.

I think this started to be an issue when I went Win7. I changed to diffferent compatability modes running TIR (XP, XP w/SP2, Vista bla bla bla) different TIR drivers, different USB ports, (all my USB toys, 1 device per port, no hubs used).

Because I knew my TIR 5 was on its way, I lived with it as much as a man dependant on his TIR can, knowing that at anytime, mid-mission maybe, or at the ingress point, the dreaded windows 'found new hardware' sound would cut my mission short, causing me much grief, despair and anguish.

But I have now upgraded to Win7 64bit, new i7, mobo, HDD, RAM bla bla bla and I am again experiencing the same thing with the TIR5 and new system as I was with TIR3 and the old system. Im running a 850w PSU so I dont look to wattage as the issue but Im not 100% sure...

The only common denominator I have is my CH JS and CH Throttle stick and logitech manf KB's and Mouse (which model wise have been swapped out on accasion) but always Logitech.

Is anyone else experiencing this scenario or anyone know of a fix?

Thanks!!!

Are the other devices plugged in next to the TrackIR device?

Are you using the TrackClip Pro, as well, and are you using the USB pass-thru with it?

Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.
