Reading reviews of the new Project Gotham Racing and it's feature of letting you look freely around the cars' interiors I couldn't help but think of TrackIR.

Given that the xbox360 offers normal USB connectors I would think that this may be technically feasible?

I really like the idea, anyway.

I think that it would be a great idea too.

The only thing is that you would have to include the drivers with each game to use the TIR. I cant see M$ alowing a 3rd party application into their beloved operating system. Unless of course M$ do their normal Viktor Kyam

Well, game-specific updates is what Live is for. And I'd be surprised if non-HD xboxen ever become common.

As for third party... I reckon they would at least have third-party joysticks/steering wheels (I certainly hope they beat some drivers out of Logitech so I can keep using my DFP Wheel). And they do apparently support iPods for PGR's playlist. (And I think iPods don't just use the USB Mass Storage profile?)

Either way, as I said, I really like the idea.

I really like the idea as well.

M$ give the developers for periferals the standards that they have to use to work on the hardware. M$ do have partners like Apple but that is a different system.

Like I said though I think it would be great if it could happen.
