When I plug the device into the usb port a balloon hint appears.

I'm not using a english windows version but I think the translation would be "This device can perform faster". It could look like this

I've tried all USB ports on three different computers. All symstems were WinXP SP 3.

So, I thought it was a problem of this device (S/N 157391). So I bought a new one (S/N 157400) , but the same problem there.

How to solve this?

How old are the computers you tried it on? The message you are seeing is usually associated with the use of a USB2.0 device in a USB1.1 port. It could be that you do not have the correct drivers for your USB ports or that they are 1.1 ports.

All computers have USB 2.0 hostcontroller and other USB 2.0 devices are working fine for example m audio fast track ultra.

In that case I'd be checking your chipset drivers for an update.

I'd agree with Nuladen, it If you're getting that message it's because your computer thinks the port is 1.1, regardless of whether it is 2.0 or not. Updated chipset drivers would be the first place I would look.
