Vista crash with atioglxx.dll 5.1 Final not 5.1 beta 3.

Hi,
I'm running Vista 32 bit, HD 4870 with latest ATI drivers and catalyst software. I get the crash with atioglxx.dll but *only* with the final version of the software or if I hit the game updates notification in the earlier beta release.
So, install 5.1 beta 3, hit the game updates top right, restart software, crash.
Instal 5.1 Final (which has that game update?) crash straight off the bat in that dll.
If I run 5.1 beta 3 and ignore the Game Updates notification, all seems good.
While I don't doubt there is a bad interaction with the ATI drivers, there's something going on in a recently added supported game which seems to be part of the problem.

Thank you for reporting this, I will pass this information along to our developer for the TrackIR software.

Done a bit more rigorous testing.
The problem seems to be related to restarting the application as although I said it was fine in the beta (the app did start) it crashes on a restart.
Uninstalling and reinstalling would allow me to run the app once, but then it crashes on restarts.
The posted fix for XP to set to Win2000 compatibility does fix the problem under Vista.

I would like to confirm I have the same issue on Windows 7 as well. However, the compatibility trick does not work for me. What I did find, is that making a copy of the ati atioglxx.dl_ file from the ATI installation, in the TrackIr installation, and renaming it to atioglxx.dll allows the program to start with a different error.
That error is:
LoadLibrary failed with error 193:%1 is not a valid Win32 application.

Simply renaming a .dl_ file does not work. You have to use the expand utility within windows to create a valid dll file from it, however this might not be the appropriate way of dealing with the issue to begin with.
What version of catalyst and what card are you using?
What motherboard?
32 or 64 bit windows?

Hi,
i also have system crashes with version 5.1.3 final in connection with ATI drivers and the catalyst software(version 11.3). The system (Win7/64bit) is new and my first thought was faulty memory. Meanwhile i can rule out this possibility.
With TrackIr Software 4.1.038 everything works fine!
Any ideas?

Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 / Drivers & Software V11.3

Thanks,

What crash is recorded? Could you post the event log record?
