Screen Jitters

Hi I am using a TrackIR 4 (Pro?) with trackClip Windows XP with Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT card, 5.1.3 TrackIR software.

Problem is I get random flip/flops of the screen. Perhaps one every 2 minutes or so. In Aces High Online Combat Sim this totally throws off my orientatiion and I am toast if in a dogfight. I don't think I had this issue with v4.x software but I prefer the v 5.x software as it seems to allow a "sticky spot" where if I have the trackir aligned with my gunsite I can move my head a little bit without throwing off the gunsite alignment. I have turned the "smoothing" setting to full smooth. Is there anything else I should do? All lights in the room are turned off and it is at night so there is zero stray light.

TIA

OK. I think I figured this one out. I went back to the latest version 4.x software and studied the TrackIR diagnostic/settings screens. The tracking screen was showing the 3 green "reflection signals" from my trackir clip just fine. But at certain angles, especially when I tilted my head back, I noticed two small red dots along with the 3 green. On a hunch I shielded my glasses and sure enough the red dots went away. I have recently upgraded to a larger and brighter monitor.

I noticed that by using one hand to shield my glasses that I was no longer getting the spurious "flip" of the screen. So I turned the "light filtering" almost to max (just enough to filter out the reflection from my glasses). Problem solved!

Good troubleshooting, Doug. Light filtering is exactly what we would recommend to fix this issue. :)
