Can't center TrackIR when paused with 5.1.200

Hi,
I have a TrackIR3 (with Vector expansion) and have recently upgraded to the latest v5.1.200 (build 9414) software from the old version 4. Everything works great except that when I pause my TrackIR and then press Center it has no effect (whereas with the older software pressing Center would center the view whether or not TrackIR was paused).

This is particularly annoying when I'm about to fire in a combat flight sim as I like to pause TrackIR and center the view before firing so I know I'm correctly lined up with the gunsight. Am I missing a setting somewhere which would return the behaviour to the way it worked in previous versions or is this a bug?
Cheers,
DD

P.S. To some extent I can work around the problem by using my joystick's profiling software to have a single button press emulate both the key I've bound to Center in the TrackIR software and also whatever key the game itself uses to center the view but this shouldn't be necessary.

Hello -

I've tested this in build 9414, and it appears to be functioning properly. The center does not take effect, however, until you unpause the TrackIR, so if you pause, center, move, then unpause, your center is set to where you hit un-pause. It is possible that key-trapping may be interrupted by pausing as well, and that is interrupting the f-12 press. I'll look more into this, and see if I can track down the cause of this.

Hi Mike,
Sorry for the delay in replying - I just came back to the forum for something unrelated and saw your reply in this thread. The reason this is an issue is that in many sims there are times when you want your TrackIR to be temporarily disabled and to have the view exactly centered (eg when firing in a combat sim or landing in FSX).

In the past the way the TrackIR software used to work was that you pressed the "Pause TrackIR" key/button and then hit the "Center TrackIR key/button" and that would immediately center your view so your virtual head was looking directly forward (this was exactly as desired).

At some point a bug was introduced whereby the center key no longer functions to center your view when the TrackIR is paused. This means that to get to the desired state (i.e. TrackIR paused and view centered) you have to first press the center key, then keep your head very still and press the pause key. If you accidentally move your head slightly between pressing the two keys, you end up with a non-centered view (throwing off your aim or landing).

Could this behaviour be changed back to the way it used to function please? (i.e. if you press Center when the TrackIR is paused, then your in-game view will immediately be centered).
Cheers,
DD

Hmm, not sure about that. I'll look at the previous versions and see what's going on there. It is possible to press f12 f9 in rapid succession for the same effect, though, at the moment.
