Update gone very wrong

Hi, tried to update my Tir5 software last night, but it went wrong. The update tried to delete the previous verson but there seemed to be a problem. Tir5 does not appear on my list of programs to uninstall, but the folder remained. I tried to delete the folder, but windows would not let me. after a restart was able to delete the folder, but when attempting to install TrackIR_5.1.3.Final.exe my system freezes for several minutes, then I get this message:

Error Executing the Specified Program

"C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\pft15~tmp\Setup.exe"

I get this message trying to install older versions too. I tried to install on my other pc hoping to copy over the folder, but I fail there too getting a different error, something about server fail. Older versions fail too same error.

What a debacle. Using XP pro on both machines.

Any ideas anyone?

Tried a system restore, trackir seems to be there, but does not work and crashes immediately. When I try to uninstall it I fail" "Error extracting support files: the system cannot find the file specified."

Can't uninstall or install.

Solved. After another system restore, and a another fail at uninstalling, I tried installing the latest version again and it uninstalled the previous version and installed correctly.

Weird
