TrackIR not working (?)

Hi.
I have a problem with my TrackIR. I have it for about a year now. Today I downloaded latest drivers and installed them, and when I connect the device via USB, nothing happens. Windows detects it, it says it has been installed sccesfully and I see it in Device Manager, but neither trackIR software picks it up nor any LEDs light up on the device itself. Any ideas? It was a clean install, I formatted my disk recently and installed Windows 7 32 bit.

Try uninstalling, re-downloading, then right clicking on the installer and selecting "Run as administrator" This issue is known to occur on some Windows 7 systems due to Windows UAC. Even if your account is an administrator, selecting "Run as administrator" will allow the program to run with elevated permissions and install properly.

Yes, this is a real problem, and may be wide spread. I have tried the recommended fix and it does not resolve the issue. It is a Windows 7 problem as I have never had this issue with any of my Win XP boxes. I am going to attempt reverting to an older driver to see if the problem lies in the 5.1 driver release.

We are working to track down the cause of the issue, but it is believed to be with UAC. You may wish to turn UAC off through the users section of the control panel, however be warned that doing this is at your own risk, as UAC is part of the Windows Vista and 7 security packages.
