Mounting SmartNAV 4?

I've been using SmartNAV 4 for a couple of months now, and think it's fantastic. I must admit I was a little bit sceptical at first about just how well it would work, but can honestly say I've been amazed at how good it is
.
I've just started to use it with a netbook, however, and I'm having a few difficulties mounting it on the screen. I understand from the info on the website and from messages on this forum (such as this one: http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubb ... mber=43069) that it should be possible to attach it to a mini tripod, which would probably be the ideal solution.
However, I may be being a bit dim but I can't see how to remove the base to expose the mounting thread?
The T shaped base (with rotating leg) seems to be ratcheted directly onto a black disc that allows the base to rotate through 360 and I can't see any way of removing it. Can anyone shed some light?
Thanks.
Regards,
Phil
