Mounting SmartNAV 4?

I've been using SmartNAV 4 for a couple of months now, and think it's fantastic. I must admit I was a little bit sceptical at first about just how well it would work, but can honestly say I've been amazed at how good it is :).

I've just started to use it with a netbook, however, and I'm having a few difficulties mounting it on the screen. I understand from the info on the website and from messages on this forum (such as this one: http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubb ... mber=43069) that it should be possible to attach it to a mini tripod, which would probably be the ideal solution.

However, I may be being a bit dim but I can't see how to remove the base to expose the mounting thread?

The T shaped base (with rotating leg) seems to be ratcheted directly onto a black disc that allows the base to rotate through 360 and I can't see any way of removing it. Can anyone shed some light?

Thanks.

Regards,
Phil

Hello -

On the back, there is a small silver pin towards the bottom that holds the base onto the camera. Pull the pin out, and the base should fall from the camera, exposing a standard 20x1/4 tripod thread. Be sure that you do not use a tripod with too large a post, as this could damage the camera.

That's great, thanks. I'd noticed that pin but didn't want to start levering it out in case it damaged the camera. Have done so now though and can now see how it fits together.

Thanks again.
