I'm still having trouble with this--and I really need to use the clip, as I want to take advantage of the 6 DOF. Is there a way to get the clip to be facing my 9 'clock position? And which rotation should I use in that position? Thanks for any reply

HI Vincent,

TrackIR mounted to the left of my head
<t>I thought there was a setting in th software--camera position--where the software would know I have the trackir device at my 9'oclock position. <br/> <br/> Also--does 6 DOF only work with the clip--or can I use a dot? The reason I ask--I can't get the clip to face my 9 o'clock position straight. ...

Anyone use TrackIR with a projector?
I'm trying to figure out the best placement of the trackir device while using a projector as a monitor. The only thing I can come up with--hanging it from the ceiling!?
Has anyone tried to do this? Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
B

Re: Is this possible? Need to know before I buy!
Yup, only pitch is reversed--yaw, or left and right, is the same. Originially I though it was reversed as well--but found out soon enough it wasn't upon entering the cockpit Pitch AND YAW? Maybe I'm thinking wrong, but I believe Yaw would be the same from the back, only pitch is reversed. The 180 de...

Re: Is this possible? Need to know before I buy!
I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that the leaning axis wouldn't work in lomac, or il2, so I disabled it.

Re: Is this possible? Need to know before I buy!
<t>I think you were posting right when I posted that I'd fixed it by plugging it into another usb port.<br/> <br/> At any rate--this device exceeded all of my expectations. I've just flown a mission in LOMAC: Flaming Cliffs and IL2: 1946 after tweaking the trackir a bit--and it is jaw-dropping unbel...

Re: Is this possible? Need to know before I buy!
I plugged it into an different USB port, and now when it runs, it only takes 2% or so. Problem solved.

Re: Is this possible? Need to know before I buy!
Sounds like a plan sir, and enjoy.... I've got everything setup right, being backwards and all--but I'm running into a processor hog problem. I read somewhere that the application while running takes something like 2% of the cpu usage. In my task manager--when trackir is running, I'm getting like 2...

Re: Is this possible? Need to know before I buy!
I'm getting it today--can't wait to try it out with LOMAC: Flaming Cliffs and IL2: 1946! I bought a headset too--and plan to clip the clip to the right side, facing behind me, where the trackir device will be placed.

Is this possible? Need to know before I buy!
<t>I'm going to use the trackir 4 behind me, or alternately to the left or right of me. I'm using a ceiling mounted projector for a display--so there is really nothing to put in front of me to hold the trackIR device. My computer is directly behind my head on a stand--and I'm on a couch with two end...
