Vertical panning limit

Post by Precog »

Just like the demo, the vertical panning range seems to be restricted with the latest TRackIR software. If I diasable TrackIR and use the mouse i can pan much further in the vertical. Strangely, this panning restriction is absent when 2.01b is installed.

Is this a confirmed bug thats being worked on by the developers for the first patch?

Hi,

To the best of my knowledge from reading the UBI forums (when they work ) they are supposed to be addressing that problem.

In the meantime have you tried "fast mouse" mode? You activate it by <ctrl><right shift> to speed up panning with mouse, and it also affects TrackIR. Be warned TrackIR will be hyper-sensitive, you'll want to tone down your profile sensitivity. But it DOES increase the vertical pan range.

I've also had some luck by disabling TrackIR enhanced mode and just using TrackIR mouselook mode - in fact this works even better for me. You might want to try that, if you haven't already.

Hopefully the patch will be out soon, and get TrackIR working as good as it does in FS2K4 and FB

Regards,

Lee

Thanks Lee ... I get around the issue by installing 2.01b. Just wondering if the issue had been raised officially? IVe heard about the centering issue but not about the vertical panning problem.

it has been brought up a number of times on the official boards so I would assume that they are aware of the problem... Especially since Carl has a trackIr2 himself

It has been known but no official comment on if they are fixing it.

Drivers, regardless of the version, do not fix the issue. It is a game code issue, not a driver issue.

Only work around is to spee dup the cockpit mouse panning by hitting CONTROL-R_SHIFT while in game.

Note, that also screws up your profile speed... so set your profile speed lower than usual and then hit those keys in game.
