Setting sensitivity?

Post by grandkodiak »

How can I make the trackir more sensitive? turning my head moves the eyepoint in video games in pretty useless amount... looking down at gauges is about it... looking right or left, up or down to any degree requires that you move your entire head and shoulders in that directiong... i hate leaning off my chiar jsut to look right or left... is there any fix? it simply doesnt move far enough in the directions!

also, is there a damper so when you are near a center it doesnt move at all? its very VERy hard to keep your head perfectly still when you are zoomed in on something in lockon and the damn thing keeps moving on you...

I'm a noob with Tir also, and had some of the same problems that you have. I found that I had to use the large squares instead of the dots. You can set a deadzone in the center to stop the movement within a certain range....see the manual there is an example on how to do this. There is also a deadzone profile that you can work from and merely adjust the size of the deadzone to your liking. You might also want to try moving the Tir unit in order to track your movements better. If you are playing games that have built in support for Tir make sure you use absolute mode. You can only set deadzones in this mode. Other things you need to adjust are the speed and smoothing....You have to keep making adjustments until you find one that suits you. It does take some getting used to also I thought I would throw up the first time I used it in game....but now that I'm getting used to it the Tir is great!

I don't know which game you are trying to play, it sounds like a flightsim . Check out some of the game related forums here. Some of the people have posted their settings You can try them out also.

BTW Don't forget to save your Tir profiles....see manual how to do this.
