Win2K 2.01 final crashing

Got my TrackIR in the post yesterday, and installed as per documents 2.01final before connecting my track IR.
I'm running Win2k on a shuttle SN41G2 nforce2 motherboard.
It installed fine and detected the trackIR. I even managed to play LFS using mouse emulation, however trying the close down naturalpoint cause an error to be logged

Upon reset/reload tracking was only working in tracking tab (yellow dot, green squares page), but it refused to work with mouse emulation. Had to un-install and tidy up registry.

I've re-installed drivers and they still crash on closure. Anyone else having this problem??

search forum for crash, CTD, install problems :

many users had it work after a clean re install of OS , although I never found anyone who could explain why with no doubt.
