Track Ir2 and FPS's .........Attn. Ir2 Devs.

Post by Loyalty »

The way to get Ir2 in the First Person Shooter games is this, Natural Point Needs to get together with Game Software Developers that produse Fisrt Person Shooters, and develop the following control system for FPS games.
This control system could be implemented to all current FPS's with Game Side Patch.
So here it is: A,W,S,D would be the traditional "Leg Movements" The Mouse Would control the "Torso Movements" and the Enhanced TrackIr2 would control "Head Movements" of course the Head movements would be limited to a REALISTIC and HUMAN like Turn Radius.
So basically gamers would control the game exactly like they do now except they would aim/look with their heads. Simple as that.

I know there are at least 50 times more FPS gamers out there than there are Simmers, so I would think this would generate boocoo sales for Natural Point.

Its unlikely companies will write code to support this product, instead NaturalPoint should write software that supports current software (keyboard emulation). I still cant believe this isnt available, it would make all my games compatible and more enjoyable. as for now my tir2 is just sitting idle till this software comes out. because the games the trackir2 does support arnt that fun. my question is how long do i have to wait before keyboard emulation.

Well... there are lots of open-source fps out there, Id implement it in them first, to get a feeling if it works at all..

AvP2, Nolf, Nolf2, Quake, Quake2 just off the top of my head..

Joe,

Keymapping has been a plague for a long time. It was in versions of the software many years ago, but there were too many problems with it.

Now, they beleive that they can make a keymapper work for XP/2000. But, 98 users are going to be left out. Too hard to impliment on that platform.

So, it is coming.
