No Enhanced in IL2

Post by HomerFett »

I just got my TrackIR2 today.. read through the directions and loaded it all up. When in the motion setup screen it works in enhanced mode (blue led is on) but as soon as I get in game it only works out of enhanced mode. as soon as I turn the enhanced mode on (F8) its just will not even move. I am sure it must be a setting I have wrong but I am at a loss and ready to pull (what I have left) my hair out.

Thanks for the help!!

...OK I changes profiles and it seemed to fix the problem. Howver I tried all three that were available for Download on the website here. I can't figure how to slow it down. They seem so sensitive I get all screwed up flying with it. A 109 is tempermental enough. All I want is a nice slow response with a good wide dead zone. Does anyone have a profile they would be willing to share thats slower than those available. I am just having a heck of a time figuiring it out myself.

Just go to the motion page after you load one of the profiles and click through the edit points. At each edit point, lower the speed slider by a few clicks. Then save it and go flying.

Continue to tweak until you get the perfect settings.

It also takes quite a bit to get used to it but not near as long as it did before we had enahnced mode!!!

Charlie thaks for the help... now I understand how to adjust the points. However, I noticed when I creat and save my own profile to run in IL2 when I get in the cockpit I only have mobilty to the right of center and up and down. Any ideas what may be the problem. When I sit in the pit it will be centered (somwhat) then I can look to the right and it sticks on my back view. There is like an invisible wall to the left that wont let me look. I notice its the same way on the motion screen.

Ok I just went back to the menu and the camera screen shows the relector on my track hat loud and clear. I have full range of motion on that screen. But when I go to the motion screen you know how its divided in four right... I have full range of motion in the top right square. Only motion in the right side of the Top Left square and just the top right edge of the bottom left. I have little tracking at all in the bottom right square. Maybe only the top potion of it. As soon as it goes out of range its shows "no data"
The camera setting is centered and I am only about 12" from it. Its just odd that the camera screen I have full motion but in the motion screen and ingame its not tracking full range of motion.

Hello Deep Crater,

Let me understand your problem correctly. You can turn to the right with no problem but when you attempt to turn to the left the unit is not tracking in that direction?

Do you also have this problem when you use a dot on your head and not the TrackHAT?

Okay if you would like to try this for me…

1) Check under the tracking screen that the camera rotation is set to zero. Also check that there is nothing else visible in the tracking window.

2) In the tracking screen confirm that you have the TrackHAT checked.

3) While still in the tracking screen, physically move the camera until the green dot is roughly in the center of the window. Do this in the position that you will play your game and position the camera as close to eye level as possible (or hat level).

4) Go to the motion screen and hit the F12 key to center the curser (at this time you will be in relative mode). Confirm that you can move the curser in all directions around your monitor screen.

Fire up your favorite game and give these settings a try ( dont forget to hit the F8 key to enter enhanced mode).

Let us concentrate on getting the curser to move around screen correctly first and then I will send you my profile that I use in IL2, for you to try.

1) Yep - set to zaro and no interference.

2) Track Hat IS checked

3) Done

4) Check

...Thanks for the help and I did exactly as you said. Still having the same problem. I see thereis another post in the forum with a guy with the same problem. I too just got my TrackIR as he did. This is very discouraging.

In case it matters I am running an AMD 2800+, Asus A7N8X mb. Onboard sound, Radeon 9700pro VC and 1.25 gigs of RAM.

Very strange.

Does this also happen with just the dot?
Does this happen only in the game?

I see that you have made some changes to bring down the speed, was the movement initially okay before the alterations?

To be honest Wayne I really do not remember... I thought I was going absolutely crazy until I read here about another customer having the same exact problem. It happens both IN GAME too. So when I go to look out the left window I am stopped by the invisible wall (about the time my pilots head would be looking over his left shoulder ...if that helps)

It only happens on the left side far to the edge when it gets there the camera view will kind of hitch up and snap back to another location like a lag. Unfortunately it is kind of rendering the thing unuseable, problematic and not very enjoyable. I realize I can need to get used to flying (playing) with it as everyone has said but this is just odd.

1) Motion screen (black screen with dot) shows NO backround interference at all and the reflector tracks smooth as lotion.

2) rack hat is being used and I have tried front and as well as covering the reflectors on the hat with the sticker ones that you supplied me. In this mode it is set for Trackhat.

3) have also tried the dot on the forehead (...like the wife did not think I was a big enough nerd already -thanks Naturalpoint!) and the same behaivior is happening.

4) When I go to the tracking screen with the grid it currently will not track to the far left (left most grid quadrant) from top to bottom. The area it does not track will change slightly. I can always get into the top right quadrant and have full range of motion.

5) It is definately NOT a problem with my positioning - I have tried it all now.

6) TrackIr2 now sits silently on my monitor collecting dust.

Hello, you say you cannot get ENHANCED mode in IL-2.

True - IL-2 doesn't have Enhanced mode!

IL-2 Forgotten Battles has enhanced mode + it rocks.
