not happy overall

Post by JG77_Menge »

i fly il2, everytime i engage, the dam thing starts acting shitty as in locking up in mid head movement or NOT allowing full side to side visual when NEEDED most.
all i want is for it to move like a mouse, SMOOTH!! not binding up all the time. it seems to work fine enroute to trgt area. look around nice and sweet, but as soon as combat happens and im looking around/over shoulder ALOT, it start lockin up and jerking, loosing "center"
i had IR for about 2 months and im not happy with it.
is there a profile that emulates mouse movement?
i was told to get newest driver 3.10 but it seems to be a exe. i see NO readme/support to install it. i do see someone had a problem/hassle in registery that i dont want or know how to deal with.
IR v3.03
saitek X-45
AMD 1.53
Gf4 Ti 4400 128
SBA2

I had this problem as well. It seemed more pronounced in WWII Online during bouts of lag.

The solution:
My problem was that I did not place the device on top of my monitor. (Huge 19" monitor.) I was afraid that it would sit too high.
Also, once it was in the correct position, I used 4 of the square stickers and placed on a baseball cap making a larger square.

These two things completely eliminated my problems and TrackiR is VERY slick now. (I just look geeky wearing the cap!)

In all reality, they shouldn't even include the little circle stickers, they seem useless to me.

What is most important is getting a good reflective surface...the "locking up" you get is caused by the ir receiver losing the reflective surface.

What I did that works great is, I took a piece of plastic tubing, cut a piece about 1/2" long, cut a slice down one side of the tube, and stuck one of the square reflecting patches on the tube. Because of the slit in the side, you can affix it almost anywhere, and the reflective surface ends up curved, which makes it track good at extreme angles.

I have mine slid over my boom mike on me headset...made all the difference in the world.

Hope this helps

Please increase the size of the 'dot' you are using, ensure that the TrackIR is as close to center as you can get it (do this using the Tracking page for reference), and ensure that your graphics settings are not set so high that your graphics card bogs down on them.

There are times when people confuse graphics card issues with the TrackIR. If your card cannot render the game fast enough due to high graphics being set, then the TrackIR will appear to bog it down, which is not the case.

Seeing as how your problem originates when in combat, a time of high graphics rendering and lag, I would assume that this is the case here.

Hola,

I wear a visor with one of the larger surface "dots" on the rim, it's about 14" from my trackIR2 and I'm using the latest software.

Room is an office with no Windows, the only stutter I ever get is with online servers and it's lag related.

Have you tried some of the online Profiles? My unit has alway's worked perfect.

This happened for me too, until I screwed a large round headed screw partially into the bill of my track hat where the dot would normally go, and I wrapped it heavily in reflective tape from the hardware store. Now the unit can "see" a rather large dot no matter where I move my head. It works very well now.
