HOTAS Cougar and TrackIR 3 Pro

Post by Midnight_412th »

Hello

I just started using TrackIR with AHII. I am also using a HOTAS Cougar.

While in OFFLINE mode, everything seems to work fine except for some of the /P /R keypresses on the Cougar. When I go ONLINE, I loose my Cougar control functions within a couple minutes of gameplay.

This seems to knock the Cougar off the USB and I have to shut down TrackIR, then un-plug / plug the Cougar to get it back on the USB.

I am using 3.12 of TrackIR and the latest version of the Cougar drivers. My USB is 1.1.

Computer - Dell D4300
Proessor - 1.6GHz Intel
RAM - 512MB
Video - Radeon 9700 Pro 128M
Keyboard - USB
Mouse - MS Wireless - USB
Cougar - USB

Do I have too much stuff on the USB? Can the 1.1 not handle everything?

Help please. AHII is the only game I play. Would hate to have bought TIR3P and not be able to use it

Midnight_412th,

Are you using a hub?

No hub. I have 4 USB ports on the PC.

1. Keyboard and Cougar are plugged into the rear ports.

2. Mouse reciever plugged into port on the keyboard

3. TIR3P plugged into one of the front ports on the PC

Make sure you're using the latest Cougar drivers and firmware. Latest version is v 3.00.1 and can be found here. The previous version (2.0x) had disconnect-issues.

Hey i have the Cougar and one of the issues is having or shall i say not having enough Power to run all the usb items you might have running.I had to go out and buy a 660 watt power supply. That might solve your problem
