loss of control
loss of control
I have a new TIR3 running Win XP home with a CH(USB) combatstick an dpro throttle. All works great for a while (in LOMAC) then sometimes between missions I will loose all contro of the CH stuff. Must reboot to get it back. In both the game and in CH control it all look good, but no control>
Re: loss of control
I have the same problem, even though that my gear is TrackIr2 and a Cougar.
Are you running version 3.11 or 3.10?
I've returned to 3.10 because I think it has something to do with the 3.11 version, see my thread here.

Re: loss of control
hi guys,
i've contacted our support personnel about this thread, and they should reply by tomorrow.
i should ask, though, are you only having this problem in LOMAC? Are you running LOMAC with the latest patch?
(i ask because i heard that the initial LOMAC release required you to have "cockpit mouse option" checked. then the 1st patch required you to uncheck it. and the most recent patch agains needs it to be checked. i'm not in the support dept., but wondered if this could be part of the problem).

Re: loss of control
Ron & Cougar_DK,
Let me understand the the problem that you are having.
On occasion you loose joystick control while playing LO-MAC?
This sounds very odd, what version of the LO-MAC patch do you have installed?
How have you mapped your keys for TrackIR, are you sure that these keys are not used elsewhere.
I will install the latest LO-MAC patch and have a look at this.

Re: loss of control
Yes I'm running version 1.02 of LockOn and the lastest version of the Cougar files.
I have moved my TrackIr keys to the num-pad and have TrackIr trap'em. Have tied to uncheck it with no avail.
I have played two nights now in 1.02 with the 3.10 version of TrackIr, and it did not 1) lose my Cougar and 2) shut it self down.

Re: loss of control
I just recieved my unit and installed it, ran fine except i need to fine tune the profile, i tried to refly a mission IL-2 AEP and had same loss of stick, im running win XP pro 3.11 NP software and AEP 2.01 patch. My stick is Microsoft FFB pro 2. The lights on the stick worked and the IR sensors on the stick itself sensed my hand to produce FFB, although it did not register under game controllers in control panel.
Re: loss of control
Cougar_DK,
Thanks for the information.
Are you by any chance using a hub, if so is this hub unpowered?
I will be looking into this, to see where the issue may be over the next few days.
When you have lost joystick control, is this following a key that has been pressed? Or does this happen for no reason?

Re: loss of control
Np - I just hope we can get the issue solved so I can use the newest version of the TrackIr software.
I have tried the following:
1) Using my normal USB ports on the mainboard.
2) Using the USB hub in my Sony 19" screen (don't know if it is powered though)
3) Using a external self powered USB hub.
I don't think I press any particular keys when I drops out but I'm really not sure.
Please let me know if I can help you out in ANY way.
Cheers
Mark
Nb. I know we are talking in the TrackIr3 support but my TrackIr is "only" a TrackIr2...

Re: loss of control
Thanks Cougar_DK,
I have been looking at the minor changes between version 3.10 and 3.11 and I can find no reason why this should be happening.
Taking into account the timelines of when this was first reported it was after the release of the 1.02 patch for LO-MAC.
One of the changes that were made in the new LO-MAC patch was that new controller axes was added.
If anyone who is having this problem would like to try running the NaturalPoint 3.11 drivers but without the 1.02 patch, and see if the issue is still there then that would help to determine if the patch is responsible.
This is not an issue on most systems including my own, and I am running the sidewinder joystick.
If anyone else is having this problem if you can post in this thread then that would be great.

Re: loss of control
Hi Wayne, I'm willing to try that out. But since I went back to the 3.10 version my TrackIr hasn't 1) "Removed" my joystick and 2) not closed itself down (and leaving the TrackIr unit on).
I will report back.
Cheers
