NPUSB rebooting my system!

Hi!
I just got TIR3 and installed the new software. I then plug the USB and finds the drivers, but when it comes to get the driver info from NPUSB, the system reboots.I�ve tried everything, to no avail.
Any tips on this please?

WIn XP all up to date.

Other USB devices working well.

This sounds very strange.

Have you checked the event logs because Windows should have logged this error? If so what error was logged?

You should be able to find which one as the date and time will also be logged.

A few things for you to check....

Disable Auto reboot

1. Right Click My computer and hit properties
2. Go to Advanced
3. Under the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings...
4. Under System Failure UN-check "Automatically restart.

Also perform this step:

Write debugging information.

1. Right Click My computer and hit properties
2. Go to Advanced
3. Under the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings...
4. Under Write Debugging Information. On the scroll down menu, select "Small Memory Dump".

Then write down any information, or error messages that come up.

This should then not commit the system to a reboot or re-start, and will give you the chance to see an error message ....hopefully.
If the system still reboots then we may be looking at a possible power issue.
Try the install while in this mode, also do the same again after starting your system in safe mode, and make a note of what happens.

Would it be possible for you to try the unit on another system?

Please let me know about the above so we can look at the course of action.

Thx Wayne...In fact, I�ve finally discovered what�s happening, and it is not TIR related. These reboots are due to a memory allocation problem, so I have to change all my hardware cards in order to solve it. Annoying, but relatively easy to sort out.

I'm having the same problem. Can't figure out what the problem is. Any ideas?

How would I go about figuring it out? When the computer crashes, it says theres an error with the npusb.sys file (on bluescreen).

I've tried moving/removing all my PCI devices, this did not fix the problem.

The exact error I get is:

STOP 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xF7194174, 0xF7c76AAC, 0xF7C767AC)

npusb.sys - Address F7194174 base at F7193000, DateStamp 4069FFDD

I believe I have e-mailed you on this problem this morning.

The reason is that if the USB bandwidth consumption exceeds the 100-percent maximum that the USB 2.0 update or XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) allow, you'll receive the error you mention.

Specifically, if existing USB devices are already using the maximum bandwidth and you add another USB device then .STOP 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, address, address, address) is normally the case.

Great news to see that its working now, I thought I would go ahead and post this in the hope it may help somebody else.

Hmm... It stopped doing it for some reason. I tried using a different USB port on my computer (was using the one on my MS Keyboard), and it seems to be working now.

Well, in order to feedback about my problem, I must say that it is finally working and I�m amazed about TIR 3 pro! Wow! It blows!
As for my problem, it was IRQ related. There was some kind of problem due to IRQ sharing by two hardwares: TIR and sound card.
Fortunately, everything is solved and working without problems.
