Outside views problem....

Post by piolo »

Hi, when I play IL2 every thing works fine from the cockpit but as I switch to external views I do not manage to get to rotate in the view in the horizontal plane the of 360 degree as with the mouse that goes even more. I can only manage about 270 degrees rotation. Another point, that isnt so problematic, is that as I switch to external view the plane is showed from the front/left side and not from the back/left side as if I make the selection with the IR-Track turned off. Everything works fine in the vertical plane (inside and outside).
Thank you for ypor help.

piolo, unfortunately that is just the way the game itself is. To some degree TIR is added as an afterthought although it works splendidly in the cockpit I think the default view from external when switched over is not a back-front aspect of your plane. You see the external view uses the same profile as the cockpit and since the default view is from about 10 metres away everything moves too fast looking around.

This is not the TIR's fault but just the way 1C:Maddox left the external view after adding support for TIR in Forgotten Battles. This would be a good subject to bring up in the UBI forums Oleg's Ready Room.

I also don't think the intention is to fly externals with a TIR anyway but it is handy in a coop when you're dead and want to watch everyone else.

I have no problem using TIR 3 Pro inside and outside the cockpit. TIR will not rotate outside of the cockpit if you have selected padlock enemy or padlock friendly. You simply need to just view next enemy or friendly.

If you're enthusiast enough to buy TIR, you shouldn't be using radarlock anyway.
