TIR 3 Pro No Data -another one

Post by Zacknefein »

Hope someone can help me out before the weekend is over.

I've been using TIR since the original version, no problems with it, and upgraded to a 3Pro in july of this year, also no problems, untill now.

About a 2 weeks ago I re-installed win2k, and have just gotten around to doing some simming this weekend. I installed v3.12 Sat. evening, and flew a few quick missions in FB, no problems.
Stopped simming for a bit, and in the interim rebooted my machine... upon restart, I now get the No Data message.

I un-installed and re-installed 3.12 with no luck.. went to version 3.11 with no luck.
(deleted all reg. entries each time it asked)

I get no blue light when the software is started, red LED is always on... Does go off for a second or two when the software is first started... get the "Tracking" a few seconds.. then red light comes on and "No Data".

Things I've considered:
When Installing Win2k, I believe I had the TIR plugged in... I remembered part way through, and unplugged it (along with my Cougar ) before the first "Log in".

I Don't have any questionable entries in Device Manager.
I do have a listing under USB Controllers for "NaturalPoint TrackIR" (driver version 1.30.0000 - npusb.sys). This is the only listing i Device manager that relaets to TrackIR that I can tell.

Software Installs just fine, but when I plug the unit in and drivers are loaded I get this message:

Any Ideas?

Zacknefein,

Completly un-install the NaturalPoint software, allowing the software to clear any registry entries.
Delete the NaturalPoint folder prior to any re-install.

If you are still having problems can you send me a copy of your setupapi.log file.

Thanks Wayne, yup, that's the way I've been doing it per the FAQ/troubleshooting guide. Even changed the install path to "C:\Program Files\TrackIR" on this last round just to be sure.

The error above showed up in the last couple of installs... not sure if it was there at first as I didn't expect any problems and fast clicked through everything.

setupapi.log is on the way.

Thanks
Mark
