Hi,
i have a brand new TrackIR3 and use the new Software. The readme said, there's only the enhanced mode and no mouse emulation mode anymore. You can see the enhance mode by watching the "blue LED".
Unfortunately i don't have a blue LED anywhere. When i start up IL2 for instance, no blue LED can be seen anywhere. Is this normal, or did the shop sell me a TrackIR2 instead of a TrackIr3?
Thanks in advance,
Bond

Re: No blue LED
Bond are you using the drives from the disk or the drivers from the downloads section here?
It might be that you are running ver 3 software in mouse mode which would not turn the blue LED on.
If you are running ver4 driver drop one of the guys (Jim or Wayne) a PM, stating what version of the drivers you are usingin and your TIR unit number.
One thing about installing a TIR.
Make sure the TIR is not plugged in when you install the drivers. Plug the TIR in when they have installed and the 'Found New Hardware' wizzard will say that New HardWare is found and let it install automatically it will then pick the drivers up that you had installed before plugging the TIR in.

Re: No blue LED
Thanks for your help. I installed the software that came with the device. Then, the new Version 4 software came out and i installed the new version.
Do i need new drivers as well?

Re: No blue LED
Bond the drivers are built into the software for TIR.
The best way to ease any future problems would be to do the following (if you did not).
Unplug the TIR
Goto Add Remove Programs
Find TackIR4 and Delete
Reboot PC
Goto where you saved your Ver4 software
Run Installer
When Finished plug in TIR
Found New HardWare Wizard will detect the TIR
Let the Wizard Automatically Install the drivers
That is the safest way of updating your TIR drivers(software).
Good Luck and Enjoy

Re: No blue LED
I did exactly what was suggested in the post above, but there is still no blue LED visible when i start IL2 or PF.
Is something broken in the device?

Hello:
It sounds like you have a device that has the blue LED not working, everything else seems to be fine. If you would like to have us fix this, we can, just email support@naturalpoint.com

Re: No blue LED
B11TME, I do not think that it is a case of your blue LED failing. CFS3 has mouse look and does not have native support for TIR (which is the mode that turns the blue led on).
One way for a work around at the moment is to download the last version 3 software.
Uninstall the version 4.x.xxx that you are running with add/remove from settings.
Delete the NaturalPoint directry (normally C:\Programs\)
Reboot (to clear any programes still in memory)
Install the Ver3.x.xxx
Install the Ver4.x.xxx to a different directory. Do not accept the USB driver in Ver4.xx.xxx this will force Ver4 to use the Ver3 driver
Rename the shortcuts so that you know which are which and the profiles for the 2 are not compatable.
Once you have done all that follow this (I no longer have CFS3) :- http://forums.naturalpoint.com/cgi-bin/ ... 1;t=000017
Good Luck
