More Problems
I am becoming increasingly dissatisfied with this product. I am considering returning it. In "Lock On" it will not centre after I look in one direction and come back to center and am looking out one side of the aircraft, not back in front of me as should be. Missions have become impossible to complete using it. Tried it in "IL2" and the problem is even worse. When you look to the right or left and come back to center, it isn't in the center anymore it is off to one side and I must keep on recentering it with great frequency. Might as well be go back to the mouse or hat switch, at least it is reliable. What is the return policy on this product?

Re: More Problems
Hello:
It sounds to me like you are in Mouse Emulation Mode, or something like that, not TrackIR Enhanced, which is absolute. I would highly recommend using the latest version of the software, it should "find" the device just fine, especially if you already have it up and running. Are you using your Vector Clip? Did you activate that part yet?
I would suggest just giving us a call during normal business hours and talking to Rick. We have full time tech support people, just sitting here, waiting for your call and your call only, no robot answering, real people, you bought a premium product, so call us and get premium support. What is the phrase; a phone call is worth a thousand posts in our forum?

Re: More Problems
No can do....sounded like a good idea at the time but I assumed you a had a toll free number. Here are some mumbers direct from the bill I would like you to digest:
Products
------------------------------------------------------
1 x TrackIR 3 Pro Head Tracker (trackir3pro) = $155.98CAD
------------------------------------------------------
Sub-Total: $155.98CAD
Zone Based Shipping Rates (Canada Overnight Service): $22.98CAD
Total: $178.96CAD
...thats Canadian funds which take a further s___t kicking when buying american products.
And did not receive it overnight!
Try to understand. I have spent the above and now you want me to make a long distance call, not toll free so I am going to get stuck shelling out more money for this "premium" product in long distance charges. Since I am in Canada international charges will also apply. These problems will have to be solved in this forum and promptly or I am returning it. Sorry about the ultimatum but I have posed questions here and I have not recieved any answers yet. I have read similar threads where the same appears to be going on so I am becoming greatly alarmed and concerned. Respectfully, comply please

Re: More Problems
To add to my concern about unanswered posts, reference to one of my first posts (Called "It Came Today) in which I spoke of a problem in fs9 and I will quote it... "The big problem for now (at least in FS9) is the when my head is not moving the screen litterally jumps around as if being exposed to some kind of wind buffeting. Not violently but enough to be annoying during the flight with passengers possibly employing the use of virtual sick sacks. Please advise", the post went unanswered and upon browsing thru the forum I found a post called "Juddervision" which states: "I have TrackIR with Vector expansion and the latest version of TrackIR4. I'm suffering judder vision! Nearly all the time when I'm using Track IR the whole picture is juddering ever so slightly - until I put in a control input when it judders a lot! At first I thought it was particularly good turbulance modelling, but now I don't think so. I've tried different aircraft, different airports, different profiles and un and re-installing the software (unplugging the TRack IR religiously as I go). It's really unusable at the moment. Any ideas as to what may be causing it?"...and that post is still unresolved!!!!
This is just one instance but given it was that easy to find it, statistically, there MUST be more. It is a cause for great concern

Re: More Problems
Xray I am sorry you are haveing these problems. Unfortunatly I do not have FS9 or Flaming Clifs so I can only guess to what is happening.
When I first bought TIR for IL2 I had a simular problem of looking off to one side and it being off when I looked back, which is what first bought me to these forums. It turned out to be a combination of a few things.
First it is recomended to have the TIR Camera plugged into it's own USB port, not through a HUB.
I found that when I was moving whilst looking left and right when I came back to centre I was not quite centred. Now this was a combination of 2 things.
1) It was my fault.
2) The TIR was overtly sensitive for my level of experience. There for magnifying my anoyance.
Here is how you de-sensitise the level of tracking.
Open up your profile:-
Click on 'Edit Yaw'.
Make Acceleration 'Agressive' (It has the smoothest travel)
Look for 'Shift Entire Curve' in the top right.
Click 3 or 4 times on the down arrow and then once on the up arrow. This will slow down the speed of movement for the whole curve and give a natural flat spot which is not as agressive to get out of as 'Dead Zone'.
Now copy select All in 'Copy Curve To Axis' and select 'Copy'.
If everything is still too fast use smoothing to adjust judders (I use 15-35 depending on the sim.)
If you are still having problems in the 'Tracking Window' click on 'Settings' at the bottom.
Make sure both LED options are selected.
Click the Light Filtering and adjust between 50-200 in the manusal it dot advise going over 200. I find about 100 works best for me.
If you are using the Vector select 'Dot' type and leave at 100. Otherwise you could give it a go but I have never known anyone to need adjusting that.
I have tried to cover all of your possible problems in one go and there is a lot of info there so please ask if any more help or clarification is needed.

Re: More Problems
Also we do have a toll free number, 1-888-865-5535.
Re: More Problems
We did not answer your forum post as we were awaiting your phone call, where we could just walk you through any potential problems. Perhaps you are running Active Camera, that will cause this problem, or the Vector clip is not being seen correctly and is therefore causing in accurate tracking data.
Re: More Problems
Active Camera!!!!! I will uninstall it immediately.
it has to be "activated" in order to run in fs9 but I will take it out regardless and then report back. Also the track hat is being held up in Mississauga because of some regulatory paranoia that exhists between our two great countries but FedEX is still going to bill me for overnitr shipping . That of course is not your fault and I am ongoing with FedEX in trying to get normal and not overnite shipping charges to apply but I think I am going to have to bite the bullet on that one. So back to tha plan...uninstall active camera and I'll continue to wait for the vector expansion. I will return VIA this thread with the results

Re: More Problems
I uninstalled active camera and the video is now smoooth as glass. That is one problem taken care of thank you. I would like to pause momentarily here and apologise for the misunderstanding with the phonre #. The one I received in my package from FedupEX when I dialed it claimed I could not use it in my calling area. That is when I perceived the long distance shuffle. It may also be my fault with the apparent drifting of the "center" of line when returning from a right or left look out the cockpit windows although I am not fully convinced of that yet. Distance from the device is approx. 2.5 ft and I try to adjust the green dot on the screen for dead center but it doesn't appear to stay there even though I am trying to return my head to the point of adjustment/origin every time I go back to center
Re: More Problems
Xray, if you can remember learning how to use a mouse, well TIR is like that. It takes a while (the length of time depending on the user) to get used to, it took me about 2 weeks at first and now I am 'looking' even if the game does not support it.
The best thing to do is relax and it will come your body takes a bit of training and if you try to force it every thing will never feel right.
As for the not going back to neutral after looking left or right I felt exactly the same as you do as in don't talk daft. Have a look in the mirror with a spot marked befor you move (that cured it for me).
The best thing I can sugest is to try some of the settings and relax. Take it in small steps otherwise you might end up with head aches or a stiff neck. If you do give it a rest, remember you are relearning how to interact within a game and conciously using muscles that you normally unconciously use.
Enjoy and please feel free to ask if I can help any more.
