I have a TIR3 Pro purchased in Jan. of 2005. I recently installed the software update for it (current version as shown in the About Naturalpoint TrackIR section is Version 4.1 build 28). Vector expansion is not enabled. I have not actually used the device in some months, and wanted to try it again now that the v4.03 patch has been released for pacific fighters. When I enabled the device, I imediately noticed that it was not tracking normally. Movement was extraordinairly jerky. Looking at the tracking view, I see random groupings of white and/or green lines appearing and disappearing, but no "dot" as should normally be present. The "current dot (pixels) number was also fluctuating widly.
Anybody have any suggestions on what could be wrong?

Nevermind, problem solved. Uninstalling the device, unplugging it, then reloading the software and plugging it back in appears to have corrected the problem.
