I've read the technical description of how TrackIR 2 differs from the unit I now have, but could someone please tell me what difference(s) in performance I would see with the new unit in MS Flight Simulator?
I'm pretty happy with TrackIR as it is, I'll be glad to upgrade if I know what benefits I'll be getting.
Thanks,
Joel
TrackIR 2- What's the Real Benefits?
Re: TrackIR 2- What's the Real Benefits?
Hello:
The TrackIR and TrackIR2 are very similar in function, they both track a target and convert that motion into view control. The main difference, besides cosmetic improvements, is the huge increase in frame rate, up to 100 FPS from 60. This translates into you being able to lower your smoothing considerably, and that makes the whole experience much more real, as you have very little lag or "mushy" feeling. Our beta testers have been quite happy with the new units and have noticed the difference.
People should start to get their new units soon, so you will be able to read their responces and see how good it is to them.
We think that we have raised the bar.
