We have not been able to reproduce this as of yet, but we have heard that other people are having the problem. It is on the fix list.

That's the 'twin' tracking window I get, also.

I did find out that if you right click on your desktop and click on 'Refresh', it clears. Annoying, though.

So, we have quite a few XP machines around and so do our Beta testers and we can't get this to happen. Please post your system specs so we can try to track this down.

Do both windows "work" by displaying data?

MIne's doing the same thing, in 3.01 also.

P4 3Ghz, Herc 9800 Pro 128M (Omega 3.7), SBLive, DX 9.0b, XP Pro.

The rouge window does not update once it displays.

I had the same thing when I installed 3.0.

Moving the main window around the screen 'drew over' the other window. No crashes or anything else though.

XP pro SP1, P4 2.8, 1GB RAM, P4C800-E motherboard, Radeon 9800pro

Does everybody here have an Intel CPU with HT turned on?

I'm getting the same thing with my WinXp P4 3.2 800FSB with hyperthread turned on. When I turn off Hyperthreading, the black box in the corner of my desktop goes away. However, gotta leave the hyperthreading turned on. Spent too much $ to leave it off.

I agree with what you are saying, Platypus, turning off HT isn't a good long term plan, but for a temporary fix try setting the Affinity to only CPU 0. See if that fixes the problem, seems to so far with mine. Only setting the 3.01 Affinity to a single CPU means all your other programs should still use HT.

Yep....P4 3.06 Gig, HT on.

Jim; the main screen window operates normally. The 'twin' window remains static for me....it is just a inactive ghost that doesn't want to go away even if the program is closed ( but refreshing screen, as I noted, clears it ).

Other possible relevent specs:
1 gig DDR Ram
GF4 Ti4600 w/ 45.23 drivers
WinXP Home w/SP 1
FSAA @ Qincunx
DX 9.0b
