With the newer version 4.021 you dont need the files to be e-mailed to you as its fully automated.
If your software says that Vector is activated, then your good to go.... Enjoy.

Pardon me being confused a little here.
I am intending to buy the TrackIR 3 Pro and vector to obtain 6DOF.
I already have trackIR 1 which I have mounted on a table stand some three feet in front of me.
I anticipated that the trackIR Pro 3 would take its place, yes?
How and where must i instal the vector unit?
Can it be attached to the TrackIR "camera"?
Now the software? I have this puter connected to the internet, but I do not fly using this. I have another computer that has no internet connection at all.
Can I download the "activation" files on this computer( which will obviously be the computer used to register the vector, though it won't
be loaded on it ) and then transfer them to load into the laptop on which the Trackir3Pro and vector is installed?
My internet computer runs 98SE, BTW.

Cas, the Vector unit clips on the peak of a baseball cap, and is only compatable with TIR3+3Pro (I would recomend the Pro for the Vector because it has a faster scanning speed and hence more fluent tracking).
As for the code I think that it is now part of Ver4.21 drivers but if not all they are is a couple of small files that are transferable to another pc, and go into the TIR root directiry.
The reason why the sugestion for the Tracker to be 2" above the top reflector is that the top reflector sits a couple of inches back towards the head. So the camera/tracker needs to be at head hight.

Barred - Thanks a lot - has really helped. i now feel safe to buy the trackIR Pro 3 and vector.
I was a bit concerned that Ihad to have the PC it was used on acytually connected to the internet.

Yes you are right unfortunatly about offline players. Atleast IL2 and GTR are great single player games in their own right, that have the expansion into online multi-play there for you as well if you want it.

I tried flying without using the TrackIR this evening and I will never do that again!

I was about to order this but when the instructions were read out I became worried that my set up could not implement this kit so that it would work. I would use this TrackIR 3 Pro and vector like this.
1. I would load the software on to my laptop which runs my flight sims. This laptop runs Windows XP.
2. I understand that this software, once loaded, would give me details I would use to register the product with Naturalpoint via E Mail ?
3. Is there an E mail address or is a "link" used? I ask because the laptop is NOT connected to the Internet. My other computer is.
4.Assuming I can e mail Natural Point with the codes, can the two small files be sent to me by me saving them to disk, ( for later transfer to the flight sim laptop )? Or, must the files be sent direct to the computer using the software?
5. If the latter, I suppose a fix could be to load the software on to the Internet compter also, in order to receive the files into the software, and then transfer the modded folder to the other computer?

Once you have your Vector you will also receive your activation codes.
There will be a web link on the activation sheet, this will allow you to enter your info via another computer, directly on our website.
Once this is done the two files will be sent to an e-mail address of your choice.
You will then be able to copy these two files to a floppy or any other media as they are very small, and from there you can transfer them to your Flight Sim computer and place them into your profiles folder.
Thats it your done... Your Vector will now be active. If you have any problems then I will be able to help.

After receiving my TiR3 pro with vector expansion yesterday, through my local pc hardware dealer, I came home, installed everything, got the software, all went well up to the point where is asked for the activation key....
Apparantly they gave me the vector exp. without packageing, thus no key.
The store owner said he couldnt do anything about it, as he received the hardware as he gave me.......
Now I'm sitting here with a 40 euro piece of hardware that's virtually useless.
Could some one tell me were to go to for an activation key?
