"activate" hot key unresponsive?

I'm a long-time TIR user and just got my Vector Expansion device. I also just loaded the newest drivers after removing the old ones and flew about 6 missions offline and about the same online.

Intermittently, online, The device would simply ( or seemingly) self-enable the activate function. I would be traveling in a fairly straight line and the red light on the tracker would simply come on. i found that using the hotkey had NO effect but hitting the F8 key twice (to toggle the mode) would usually have the desired effect of re-activating it to normal.

Any ideas? or should i simply uninstall and reinstall the new drivers.

Here's an update: There are more than one key that causes the red tracking light to come on and the device to freeze, but each time it does I simply hit F8 and it starts working fine again.

Is this by design, and if so how do I change it...or do i want to.

I'm just loaded with questions and no answers.
