Have new TrIR. c/w with cap. Everything looks finesetting up, but nothing there while flying. Track ir just does not work. The profile thing seems to me to be the problem. Reminds me when we used to set up a joystick years ago. Could someone send me a profile so I can at least see how this works.Tom!! 6BL- cudgel

Here is what I had to do. However before I go further, I would like to mention, WHY all this nonsense with installing this hard ware. As I said before, My whole squad worked with me to get it running. Nothing doing. So today, I stripped everything, pulled the usb plug, went to regedit and deleted everything relating to trackir and natural Point. Then threw the CD that came with my Trackir in the garbage. Now I figured I have a trackir3pro, why have I been downloading 4.0.021 and then 4.0.022. So I downloaded the 3.13, plugged in the usb, windows did its thing locating new hardware, and then up came a completely different track ir menu. I never touched a thing, flashed up IL2 and the BLUE LIGHT was activated. Flew a b25 and the track ir worked lovely, without the three dots and cap thingie. WHY WHY WHY do you people do this??? MY new parcel of TrackIR on the 4th March/05 just does not work with the 4.0.021 or 4.0.022 stuff. Over 30 hours were spent by myself and squad buddies to no avail on this product. At least I have it working..Been on sims since 1993..cudgel

If I am understanding your post, and what you purchased, it did not work because you were installing the wrong software.
Reading the download area it clearly states that the version of software you were originally attempting to install is meant for the TrackIR3 pro WITH THE VECTOR EXPANSION.
Without the VECTOR EXPANSION that version of software will not work.
You downloaded the correct version in the end, and all is good.
If you have the VECTOR, and it still didn't work with the 4.xxx version of software then there is another issue.

Was talking to Wayne this afternoon on the phone. We found that every thing works wit Version but nothing with 4.0.021 or 22. The 21 and 22 display lovely, without the blue light but nothing when flying. Here is a little gem too. For anyone else who is using a Microsoft key board, MAKE SURE the F lock button in the left hand corner is enabled.. Few minutes ago I went in to the IL2 conf.ini files and changed the trackir to 0 (ZERO). Came out and the trackir (V3.13) still works. Here I go again. Hope I do not have to re-load IL2..Tom
