Vector Expansion only with TrackHat?

Post by Grizzly »

Hi!

I just got my TrackIR 3 Pro. It's a great gaming expirience. A littlebit unfamiliar. When I look to the left or right in GT Legends I always want to steer somewhere. Then I often end up in the wall.
However, now I want to buy the Vector Expansion which includes a TrackHat. But I already have a TrackHat.
Do I have to buy a second TrackHat?

Hello:

We are currently out of stock on Vector upgrades, we expect them to be back on our web site in the first part of November. Many of our dealers still have them in stock, if you can't wait until November.

I do believe that some dealers would sell you the Clip and Activation code seperately from the Hat. We only sell it as a bundle.

Glad you are enjoying your TrackIR! I know Vector would make your experience all the more enjoyable.

That phenomenon is typical when first using the TrackIR. It quite funny as the steering wheel always controls the direction of the car, but your brain has been "programmed" to believe that screen changes are tied to direction changes and one tends to steer into the viewing direction. After a view days your brain works things out.

Once this is achieved, the freedom the TrackIR affords one in a racing sim is truely ground breaking. Also what is amazing is the brains ability to deciefer the difference between your head controling the view and the car sliding. My early reservation regading the TrackIR was that I would not be able to tell the difference, but this proved to not be the case. In fact, having ones view independent from an oversteering car allows one a greater chance of catching it.

Now I got my VE.
It's a lot of fun. But still a bit difficult.
And I noticed it is easier to use TrackIR with FS2004 first.
Now I have to find the best place for the TrackIR.
Under the screen is to low and on the screen is to high.

Grizzly, try putting the camera on top of your monitor and pointing down to your normal 'neutral' sitting position. Then push your cap back on your head so that the 3 reflectors are facing the camera. I wouls also use the 'tracking view' to adjust the 3 green blobs so that the base of the triangle is as level as possible and that the 3 returns are in the centre of the 'track window' whilst you are in your normal sitting position (you might find that easier with some help).

Let me know if you still have problems

Good Luck and Enjoy
