CFS3/OFF and TIR hassles
Re: CFS3/OFF and TIR hassles
I still have not had a chance to test this. You have not been forgotten about. Once I get a chance to test it I will respond. No need to bump this every day.

Re: CFS3/OFF and TIR hassles
Just wondered if there was any ideas yet on what was causing this issue for me or any suggestions on what I might try that might fix things?
Is there any additional info I can supply that will help?
Thanks,
Stonehouse

No need to bump this every day.I should keep my mouth shut, but I'm not gonna. Rick you are obviously too busy to answer the guy's concern, it's been nearly 5 weeks since he asked for help and the ONLY other response you've made to his issue was:
quote:I will have to see... Is 3.1a a new patch released recently?...that reply being on the day he 1st posted the problem.
Maybe he's bumping it in hopes that if it's near the top, someone ELSE may see it and be able to help him, if you don't have time?
And if someone else CAN help him get it sorted, that takes a burden off you, so why chastise him for the bumps? The guy has a RIGHT to expect his nearly us$200 toy to work, all he's asking for is help, ya know?
I'm not criticising your efforts to help us, I know you work hard at that. But I think the "attitude" was a little wrong for a support rep. Just my 2 cents worth
Stonehouse, hope you will get it sorted out. Have you tried the TIR4 in different USB ports? I've read it may work fine on one port, and not at all on another. Who knows why? Also if it's in a hub, try going direct to USB on back of PC. Or if you're using USB extension cable, try without it.
As last-ditch resort, if nothing else works and no one has an answer, maybe a re-format and reinstall of Windows will fix it? If you do that, I'd recommend installing TIR FIRST before any other USB stuff else and testing it to make sure everything works. Then start installing other USB stuff and check to be sure it's still working after each device is installed, before adding the next one.
Good luck, hope you'll be able to get it fixed!

Re: CFS3/OFF and TIR hassles
Thanks for the response Harry. I'll try swapping over USB ports (I connect the TIR4 unit directly to the PC) and see if it does anything although since I've only two ports - my PC is a few years old now - it will mean swapping over my Saitek flight controls which might make it difficult if there is any association with the port it was installed on. For a number of other reasons I don't want to do a reinstall of Win2k and if it came down to that I think I'd just not use TIR4 with CFS3/OFF, which is kind of disappointing since there are not that many 6DOF titles available yet.
If anyone else has any other thoughts or suggestions (particularly what some of the error messages in the install log mean) I'd really appreciate it. The most frustrating thing is that it works fine with every other piece of software I've tried it with, even LOMAC:FC where I expected a hassle and didn't have one!
Cheers,
Stonehouse

Re: CFS3/OFF and TIR hassles
@ stonehouse,
which kind of Saitek FS do you use.
I have the same prob (see in Post "bugfix doesnt help") after i`ve install the SST Software for the X 52 FS.
No chance to bring the Track back with System-or other technical tools. I wait for answer from rick. I think he works.
we wait and hope .
cheers Rudolf

Hello all,
Rick has been out of the office a bit recently due to a family tragedy.
I will download the patch for CFS3 today and see if i can recreate the issue you're describing. More tonight or tomorrow, sirs.

Ah,
have you seen this thread in the CFS3 forum?

does this discussion in that thread help?

Thanks for the response Warren and Rudolf. I'll read through the two threads and try out the stuff mentioned and see if it helps.
