12F_Soron,

If anyone else is also trying to delete these keys...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\Vid_0547c&Pid_1002, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\Vid_0547c&Pid_0008

You will need to check that first you have admin privs.
If the keys will still not delete you will have to go into the "Device Manager" and delete/un-install the USB device this will most likely be "Unknown Device".
Unplug your unit and re-boot your computer, then check for these keys.

You should now be good to re-install your NaturalPoint software.

If anyone else is having problems please contact me.

WTE_Flyingfox,

First of all I need to know the operating system that you are using. (I will assume you have XP)

If you are upgrading to the 3.10 drivers ensure that you connect TrackIR to the same USB port.

If you have already connected TrackIR to a different USB port then this is why this can happen, XP especially remembers each USB port as a seperate gateway.

Connect your TrackIR to each port and un-install from the "Device Manager" this should remove those keys.

If all fails then carry out your "Restore" (if using XP), and restore to before the upgrade and start again and use the same USB port.

If you are still having problems with these keys then let me know either here or dropping me an e-mail. I will be more than happy to to talk you through the reg key removal.

WTE_Flyingfox,

Connect your unit to each USB port in turn, then go into "Device Manager" and delete the "Unknown Device" this should remove those two keys.

Please let me know if you are a little unsure, I would be happy to talk through this procedure on the phone.

I'm having the same problem -- my TrackIR 1 isn't installing correctly. But I'm pretty sure it's not due to old registry keys. This is a brand new machine with a clean install of win xp pro, and the first time I plugged the device in, I got the following error:

There was a problem installing this hardware:
USB Device
An error occurred during the installation of this device
A service installation section in this INF is invalid.

The cd was for version 2.01, which was what came with the device. FWIW, it worked perfectly a week and a half ago before my old computer died; it smells like a driver bug to me.
Is it possible to download a more recent firmware driver for this device? The download section only has the userspace app, which does not recognize the device.
Help!
