Centering problems with TIR4

Post by klemi »

Hi!

I got my TIR4 about one week ago. It was working fine, but then it began to track slowly during the game (just happened while playing), with delay. It also had centering problems, always some offset. I could remedy the situation by restarting the TIR application.

I haven't experienced the slow tracking problem for some time (maybe it was only some weird key combination that started the precision tracking, but I doubt it), but the centering problem is still there. I reinstalled the TIR application, but I can't solve the centering problem, not by restarting app or computer, or by reinstalling...

Thank you for help!

What game is this happening with Klemi?
The other day I messed with the GUI in Lomac Flaming Cliffs so bad I had the same problem with centreing.
What I was doing at the time was adjusting my 'in cockpit' head position too far forward and low. Result was; every time I hit centre the view was slightly right and up with no variation. No slow down though.
Apart from that TIR worked as normal. A GUI restore sorted it out no problem.

Hi!

Problem is I cannot sort it out in TIR application - the offset happens IN the application i(TIR GUI) tself. When I hit the centering button, I can see that axis axes are NOT centered correctly.

I play Forgotten Battles with expansions (FB+AEP+PF).

Does this happen in any other games? There are some issues with IL2 that will be address in an upcoming patch from Oleg and crew.

Thank you Rick. I don't believe the TIR behaviour is game related. I can see the offset in centering on the TIR application itself (calibration software). How does it look? Each time I press the centering key, the "center" shifts a little bit - it's just a little bit offset from the axis center. All axes have this problem, but I only use 2DOF at this time.

Device number is 43429.

I have reinstalled the software and the problem remains.

I have the latest software and the patch for the game.

Can you post a screen shot of your tracking window so I can see what is shown while you are wearing your track clip and hat?

Hi!

Everything looks OK, it's just centering. If I look at the gauges and press centering key repeatedly, I can see the center line offsetting from center (also the heads in head view).

My squadron mate had the same problem and he solved it by reinstalling Windows. I'm not going to do that. Instead I would like you to tell me how to do a TOTAL uninstall of TIR4 (including the registry, files, Windows files and dlls, etc). Better yet - if you have a complete uninstall application, I would very much like to get it and test it.

Thank you.

At the top of this forum section there is a file called NPREGFIX.EXE. If you run that what does it say in its report?
