Area pixels

Post by PhantomX »

Hi, I believe I have Track IR 2. I bought this Track IR maybe a year ago...I have the newest drivers installed. However my problem is this:

my area pixels when I'm in the tracking panel only get up to 20. My track IR sits maybe an inch higher than me on my monitor, and I sit maybe a foot away. My dot is extremely small and i only get 20 area pixels. Other guys I talk to get in the 120's and their green dot is much larger. I get pauses and sticks when I use this Track IR sometimes, and Im told its because my area pixels are WAY too low.

I have the USB cord into the back of my computer. Could it be a lack of USB power? I would appreciate it if I could fix this problem

PhantomX,

The sheet of dots that you have are they all small or do you have the dots and square on one sheet?

In the Tracking screen, what is your Preferred Object Size set to, you should be looking around 100 for the dots.

Try the above and let me know if you are still having problems.

Thank you for replying. I have the sheet of dots. The dots are about as big as a human pupil. I have my preferred object size set at 198. I'm only getting 20 area pixels. Another guy I know with the same profile gets around 120 area pixels. I sit about a foot away from my monitor. The Track IR is on top of my monitor. He also sits about a foot away, however his Track IR is working MUCH smoother because his area pixels are higher and I guess you have a greater area of view and it is much smoother with them area pixels higher. I hope this answers your question. Him and I spent over an hour tryin to figure out why my area pixels are so low, but we have no idea....

I have added 5 dots on my hat and got my area pixels up to the 80's. However, I still find it odd that my friend uses 1 dot and gets in the 120's..............

PhantomX,

The area pixels will change depending on the distance from the unit you are.
The guy that you talked to may have his setup different and be much closer.
