New TrackIR 4.1.029 software

Post by Vosxod »

This feature:
"changed : Increase Lost Tracking time threshold"

What if I dont want "Lost Tracking" at all? I hate it when I look back flying IL2 and dont know that traking is lost (because one of reflective dots is bloked by my head for example )and all of a sudden my view returns to center! Deadly in combat

Also about dead zone: if dead zone is specified in both horizontal and vertical axes then dead zone is not anymore "square" it's a "cross" - four stripes going from center of view all the way to sides. So there is dead stop every time virtual head croses center when I look up for example. What if I dont want it and I want "true" deadzone - only in center of straight forward view?

Thanks

What if I dont want "Lost Tracking" at all? I will pass on the info to the developers, see if it can be added in a future software build.

Also about dead zone: You can adjust the size and amount of "dead zone" in the game profile.

Also you could adjust the game profile so that you can look back, with less head movement there by negating the issue of the TrackIR software losing the the Vector Clip reflectors.

True I can adjust size of dead zone, but I cannot change its shape. Look at this picture:

You can see my configuration and dead zone it produces. Dead zone can be depicted as cross on right side. Current dead zone is red cross plus black square. What I would like dead zone to be is just black square. I dont want vitrual head to stop anywhere in red... Do you see?

Actually I don't see, any moveement of the head in either the x and y axis or both will not move the head as long as it is within the tolerances on the dead zone.

i.e. you can move your head in the 45 degree angle, as long as we are only dealing with a profile that has 2DOF, and as long as it dosen't move beyond the % of confinement for the deadzone. It should not move within game play.

Right! This is what we have now: "in either the x or y axis or both". What I would like to have in both axis only. Remove "in either the x or y axis" condition. How it is now - for example I'm looking straight up in my virtual cockpit. When I move view from left side to right side and back the view will make stop in the middle - dead zone of axis X. But I dont want view to make this stop while I'm looking straight up. I want view to stop in dead zone ONLY when I look straight forward. Basically dead zone is where X and Y axis intersect (around zero).

Bump.
Vincent - did you understand my problem there with dead zone? Just wanted to make sure - curios if this going to be considered to be like an option or something in future version...

Hmm, I get what you are talking about and it should work that way now, I will test it out and report back.
