Can't get TrackIR Pro 3 to work with FSX

Are any of you using an anti virus program?

Pop-up blocker software?

Firewall software?

What type of internet connection are you using?

norton internet security 2007 (firewall, pop up blocker, spam filter, anti virus...)

but as you can see in the fsuipc Peter Dawson thread I got the ADDONS menue now working, will test trackir4 today, maybee it works now too??!!

LAN via router, A_DSL and satellite (skyDSL) vis PCI card. A bit compley setup which gives sometimes troubles with wib update, but ONLY win update. Have a look to Peter Dawson link above...

ok, tested trackir4 software with trackir 3 vector hardware on the backup OPS; fs addons menue is visual, trckir works fine indeed, all is abck as it should be.

norton IS2007 is on, winupdate is back working, no changes in proxy setting, LAN an skydsl sat connection...

indeed it is a miracle, must be a corrumpted win install in my case, blocking some module, indeed no firewall issue...

OK - yipeee! It works now.

Previously I had installed latest Alpha driver OVER my previous drivers. After reading a tip on this forum, I uninstalled the old driver completely, rebooted, and reinstalled the same driver.

For some reason, it works now!

I did all that - reinstall the TrackIR drivers according to Vincent's instructions. Still no joy.

I also have had the same problem as those other frustrated simmers and have been awaiting the fix.

Today I found that my Pro 3 + Vectoring is now working?????

The only changes that have been made to my system relate to the McAfee security suite I am using. I will not bore you with a long story but through talking to the support people @ McAfee they recommended that I completely remove all my anti virus, firewall, anti-spam and personal privacy software. To that end they sent me a small program that swept all traces of the McAfee programs from my computer. Having done this I then installed the latest versions of the security suite.
Their recommended action arose because the support team thought that through successive updates some of the McAfee files on my computer may have become corrupted or be missing.
I am ignorant as to what uninstalling software by the windows method does to the registry.
I do know that the programme I was given by McAfee deleted entries in the registry.
I do know that FSX benefits greatly from the inhanced TrackIR.
I have only tested it for a few hours this morning and will tell my wife that I must continue my research to assist you guys

Glad you got it sorted.

I think that for the number of people experiencing this problem those steps are unreasonable to ask of everyone. Especially when it works with my other games.

Hopefully NaturalPoint will come up with a solution.

In the meantime I have removed FSX from my PC, partly because of the performance issues but also partly because TrackIR won't work and to be honest Flight Sim SUCKS without TrackIR!!

Hi all,

I has the same problem : my TrackIR 3 (without VE) not working with FSX. And today it WORKS !
what I did is the following :
I found out I had not simconnect installed (because my Deluxe FSX install didn't end correctly ; another long story - tell me if you're interested).
So I installed the SDK separately (in a dedicated folder).
I found there a simconnect.msi
Double-click it and it installs several files
Under C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS
there is the x86_SimConnect folder, it should have the simConnect.dll file in it.

Under C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\Manifest-
There should be a simconnect mainfest file and a security catalog file.

They are somehow related to Flight Sim X as they're named along the following :
x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_x-ww_429211e9. This is the product ID number.

And now , everything's OK !! With the blue LED indicating an enhanced operation.
