OK an update.

"Finally" received my replacement model (TIR3 PRO) today and Im going to reinstall within the hour. I Have bought FSX and the vecter expansion in anticipation, but after reading the many threads about problems, I am not very confident about installing the Alpha 3 drivers. Should I install the 028 drivers and if all is fine with the system then try the Alphas? or just go straight in for the kill with the Aphas first and hope they dont screw anything up?..OR continue with the 028's totally ignoring TIR with FSX untill a totally new FSX compatible driver is released?

I have waited soooo long to finally use TIR and I am rather scared to plug this one in incase I get problems like my first model did. Like folks elsewhere have said...getting TIR I'm like a kid at christmas (42 btw lol ), felt like crying when first model broke after 2 days, feels like eDimensional took an age to replace...and DONT want this one to go wrong.

Vincent any idea on timescale till new drivers are released? Guess estimate will do. I dont mind shelving FSX till they are, I have plenty of other titles (Lomac, F4AF, IL2+++, BOB2 etc etc) I can have fun with till then.

Thanks
BIll

Well to be honest, and to minimize any issues that people are having, the actual ratio of downloads to issues reported is very small.

If the drivers don't work for you, you can get a clean istall of the drivers in about 5 minutes, if not less, so I would give the new drivers a shot.

update..

I installed the Alpha3 drivers and all is A-OK. FSX has no probs at all, and to be honest TIR runs way better in FSX (SMOOTHER) than it does in FS2004.

One small prob tho Vincent. I never get the blue light switch on,EVER, therefore verifying titles that are "enhanced" ie FS2004,FSX,BOB2 etc?? Any ideas?

All-in-all altho it takes some getting used to and my kids think I look hillarious (they even bring there m8's round to have a laugh at dad. I'll turn round and have an audience of laughing teenagers lol, I'm absolutely loving the add-on.
Great stuff NP thanks.

Ok final update...

After doing a few tweaks to my XPPRO operating sys mainly... Increasing cpu priority <-- big FPS boost this one-think FSX, speeding up IRQ, File allocation size and upping the IO page lock limit, I finally have TIR+VECTOR running perfectly in ALL sims. The "no blue led" problem has gone and I'm very very pleased with my purchase.
When you get TIR to run properly its so smooth and very quickly becomes second nature. I now understand why folks say "I dont know how I ever played <enter sim here> without TIR"
Once again thank you very much NP for a wonderfull addition to my sim experience.

very happy
