FSX and Alpha3
FSX and Alpha3
I am having problems with 4.1.029 Alpha3 software. I erased the old software and loaded up the new. It seems to run perfectly except every few minutes the lights go out on the TrackIR, the game freezes, and about 5 or 6 seconds later lights are back on and game is good. It kinda sucks when you are flying! CRASH.... This is with both FSX and Aces High 2. I erased the new software and reloaded the old again(ver.028) and everything works good, so now I can play Aces without dying, but no FSX support! Anyone have the same problem or know what this could be? I am using a TrackIR 4 Pro.

Re: FSX and Alpha3
Don't know if this helps at all or just brings up more questions...
I had similar issues with my trackIR 3 on FS9. Turned out that I plugged it into a USB port on a hub that was heavily shared (external disk drives, CH Pro Yoke, Pedals, etc..)
Whenever the drive became heavily accessed it probably hogged all the bandwidth through the hub. That seemed to cause my trackIR to lock up. Probably because it couldn't send the info back to the computer.
Anyway, don't know if that's your issue but my solution was to move the trackIR off of the USB hub and directly into a USB port on the computer. Seems fine now.
Just thinking that FSX is a bit heavy on the data from the drive so I guess it depends how much of your hardware is accessed through USB.

Re: FSX and Alpha3
Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?
Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?
Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?
In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Hub"(s) that show and turn off the power saving feature that turn those ports off when idle. Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

Re: FSX and Alpha3
Thanks for the advice. I disabled all of the power saving features on the hubs and connected the TrackIR directly and thought that fixed it. I played Aces High for over a half an hour before the lockup again. The TrackIR goes black and the upper led goes red for about 5 seconds then back to normal. Same with FSX. I'm going to look at my system closer and disable some other USB devices. This does have something to do with the new version of TrackIR software or FSX and my computer, I just got to fiqure it out!!
