TIR4 not working anymore after 2 weeks!

Post by Fahrenheit »

I got my TIR 4 about 2 weeks ago and now I think it is dead!
Everything worked perfectly until today. I wanted to start the software, and nothing happened except CPU usage going up to 100%. I've been searching through the forum the whole day, trying to find a solution.

I uninstalled the software, and made a fresh install with the latest version, 4.1.029 alpha 3. The I suddenly get that USB Speed message, that the port is too slow... strange because the last 2 weeks it has worked just fine.

Then I found the thread about the problems with nforce 4 (I have the asus A8N-SLI Deluxe board) chipset. I flashed my bios. Nothing. Still the same problem. USB speed and software not starting.

Last option, I tried an external USB Hub. D-Link DUB-H7 with external power supply. made a fresh install again. Now, I don't get that speed message anymore, but still the software does not start, and on the TIR there is just the slowly blinking blue led on the bottom.

I have no idea what to do now. is the TIR really dead??? After 2 weeks? or is this a software thing?

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always did the fresh installs with backup profiles!
After installing the software a hundred times, I just deleted all the profiles and istalled it again without any backup profiles.

And now it works! The software fired up in one second!
This is a relief!

Now I don't really know what caused the problem, or what solved it. Was it the bios and chipset update, or the external usb hub? or the profiles? I have no idea!

Anyways, it works now. And it's a big relief because I couldn't fly without it anymore!

Sometimes there can be a corruption in a profile file, this will cause the software to hang during startup, or shutdown.
