Question before purchasing

Quick question about the TrackIR 4 track clip, I saw on the website it could be placed on your hat or a headset boom microphone. The clip looks kinda big though and was just wondering how would you be able to place it onto a headset boom?

It just clips onto the front edge of the headset.

The actual clip that holds on the vector clip is less than 1/2" wide.
