I have never used a TrackIR product before. I just bought FSX and TrackIR 4. I installed the software and plugged in the device. If I launch the software and go to View > Heads, the device seems to work correctly when moving the heads around. When I start up FSX though, the device doesn't work at all.
Would somebody post the steps I need to take to get the device to work with FSX? Do I need to install a profile? If so, where is this profile? Do I need to modify a configuration file? If so, which file, what is the configuration change, and how do I make it? Do I need to remap hot keys that TrackIR uses so that it doesn't conflict with FSX? If so, which keys and how do I do it?
In other words, would somebody post the steps required to make TrackIR 4 work with FSX? Thank you very much in advance for anybody that does this.

Re: What Are The Steps To Get TrackIR 4 Working In FSX
We have currently released a newer alpha version of our software to support the final version of FSX. You will need to download the latest version of the software.

1 - Run the downloaded installer file. If you havent uninstalled the previous version, it will run through an uninstall application first.
2 - If you had to run the uninstaller, rerun the downloaded file to install the latest version.
3 - Start the TrackIR software. You can run the software minimized by adjusting the TrackIR settings under the Options menu.
4 - Start FSX.
5 - Enjoy the new features of FSX, with TrackIR support.

Re: What Are The Steps To Get TrackIR 4 Working In FSX
Thank you very much. TrackIR is now working in FSX for me. I am having trouble calibrating it though.
No matter where I put the receiver and where I sit, I cannot seem to stop the view from looking straight up through the top of the cockpit and into the sky. I first had the receiver set up as is stated in the User Guide, and then I started moving the monitor and my chair to try to find the correct placement, but I cannot get the view right. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Could you send me an image of your tracking screen within the TrackIR software?
To make Print Screen work, you must save an image of what's displayed on-screen to the clipboard and then paste it into a document where it can be printed.
Windows Help: Print Screen
To do this, follow this procedure:
1. Maximize the window you'd like to capture.
2. To copy/capture the current window, hold down ALT + Print Scrn at the same time. To capture the entire screen, just press Print Scrn alone.
3. Open a new document in MS Paint, MS Word, MS Photo Editor, or Adobe PhotoShop.
4. Paste the screen shot by holding down CTRL and V at the same time.
5. Save the document as a .JPG or .JPEG file and send it in.
