looking down causes head to go to right or left
Re: looking down causes head to go to right or lef
I have no doubt about that. Since you wriggle out of ansewer a little , I guess that "looking down bug" is much more difficult to repair that we all thought. Anyway I keep my fingers crossed.
Re: looking down causes head to go to right or lef
I'm not trying to "wiggle" out of anything. Just them we will post new drivers, as soon as they are available.
Re: looking down causes head to go to right or lef
Thanks Vincent for reply. You keeping telling me that new drivers are avaiable when they're done. But that's not what I'm exactly asking you. I'm not sure if I made myself clear enough, my only question is:
is "looking down bug" (discussed in this and other threads on this forum) on the issues list addressed in the next (nearest) drivers release?
If you know the answer and you can to reveal it, then great.

Re: looking down causes head to go to right or lef
It has been posted to the development team, and added to the bug list, that is all that I can say on this point.

Thank you Vincent.
Re: looking down causes head to go to right or lef
darn just reformated and wanted to try it again and with the newest version of drivers it still does it
also I found out using dot tracking solves the problem
edit: well I found that dot tracking for some reason loses all sensitivity and hardly turns left or right unless I put the first dot all the way to top...
Does anyone know where to get the version of trackir software that came out before the ArmA support was added in?
sigh..

Re: looking down causes head to go to right or lef
Single dot tracking would resolve the look down issue, as the 3 reflectors would then not be crossing each other, or getting lost by the software.
Just be aware that the single dot is only giving you 2DOF support.

Re: looking down causes head to go to right or lef
are you guys still looking into this bug?
Re: looking down causes head to go to right or lef

Re: looking down causes head to go to right or lef
Have you tried moving your cap up or down so that the top reflector never crosses the bottom one? I had that problem when I first got my vector clip and was about to post it as a bug but before posting I ajusted my cap, just incase I was asked if I had done that and the problem dissapeared (for me.)
I have found that if the camera is looking directly at the dots the glare of the plastic (there is not a lot but there is some)does not alter the 'return' of the bounced infra red light. This can be made worse if the room is bright or there is direct sun light with in just a bit over the camera's field of view.
