Yes, both lights are on, but nothing works. Could this be a "Mouse Look" setting or something?

Well, if you can believe it, it worked great for about 30 minutes. Then it went back to the same old problem, taking 20 or more seconds to respond.

I've reinstalled FSX, the chipset drivers, and TrackIR.

I just can't figure this one out.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

george

Update.

Problem solved so far...

My computer tech support diagnosed a problem with my motherboard and the chipset drivers. After solving that problem TrackIR has been working fantastically.

Thanks for your help Vincent!

So you are getting the blue light enabling on the TrackIR, but still no movement with FSX?

What kind of firewall software are you running?

Which version of FSX is this?

Mcafee, both FSX and TrackIR have full access. Security set to "Gaming Mode".
Found no version type for the game???? STANDARD I guess.
You had mentioned that a possible hot-key change mite be needed. I have noticed that the f-9, and f-12 keys are dead in the game when TrackIR is on. Also when I exit the game, TrackIR tracking is turned off and no longer tracking. I have "Tabbed Out" during a flight, and have found the TrackIR still actively tracking... with the same results. Have never used the "precision hot-key F-7" in the game yet. Also did not find a way to re-assign the TrackIR hot-keys. Tried turning off the firewall. Tried to run it with the windows firewall as well, still no change. My "Normal mode" is with Mcafee firewall set to trusting, gaming mode enabled, FSX and TrackIR allowed full access. Both lights are on during the flight, after I take off the track hat.... the green light goes out... blue stays on the entire time.. until I exit out of FSX, then flashes till I hit F-9 again. Very strange stuff. Love the way this works in LOMAC! Just gotta figure out what is wrong with FSX.
Thanx... Merry Christmas... Dave H.

[color:"blue"] Firewall -

Using FSX Add-Ons with Firewalls and Antivirus Programs
Many new Flight Simulator add-on products connect to Flight Simulator X (FSX) via the new SimConnect Application Programming Interface (API). When you run FSX with an add-on installed, some non-Microsoft firewall and antivirus applications (such as ZoneAlarm) may detect that FSX is attempting to make a network connection and display a dialog asking you to allow or block this connection.

This network connection is necessary for the add-on to connect with FSX. Its a local connection between the add-on and FSX (via a network localhost/127.0.0.1 connection), and does not involve a connection to the Internet. Be assured: FSX is not trying to send personal data about you through the Internet.

Note that Microsoft Windows Firewall will not exhibit this behavior. It will, however, alert you if an add-on is actually trying to access the Internet.

In order for your FSX add-on to work properly with FSX you MUST allow this connection to be made. If you do not allow the connection to be made, the add-on you are trying to run (and all subsequent add-ons that connect to FSX through the SimConnect API) will not work properly.

Some non-Microsoft firewall and antivirus applications will block this "localhost" connection between an add-on and FSX automatically, without any notification. In this case, you must configure the firewall or antivirus application to include both FSX and the add-on (specifically, the fsx.exe file and the addon's .exe file, if it has one) in the list of trusted exceptions. If this is not done, the add-on will not work properly with FSX. Please refer to the documentation for your specific firewall or antivirus application for details on how to add programs to the list of trusted exceptions.

[color:"blue"] Changing HotKeys -

1 - In order to edit a profile, select it from the list of profiles in the Profiles Tab of the main TrackIR software window, then click on the Edit button which will launch the Edit Profile window.

2 - Open the Hotkeys tab of the Edit Profile window, there is a list of all the available hotkeys and their settings

When a hotkey is enabled and the Trap setting is checked, the keyboard key assigned to that hotkey action will not be available to any other windows program. If you wish for that keyboard key to be used by other programs, you will need to either re-assign the hotkey to a new keyboard key or disable the Trap setting for it (which means that the key will still perform the hotkey action but will be then passed on to other windows programs).
