Just installed NaturalPoint v2.14EG
Get this message everytime I start it.
NaturalPointeod
Failed to open language file.
The first time I got it (when first starting program) it gave me a list to select the language file but the list was empty.
The interface seems to be missing most of the options and menus.
What's up? Any ideas?
Missing Language File
Re: Missing Language File
I'm bumping this old message up because I am experiencing the same problem with my step-father's computer. I was disappointed to see that the original message generated no replies.
We first ran into the corrupted language file problem after Windows automatically updated Jack's Windows XP. I believe we ended up uninstalling the software and re-installing it in order to solve the problem. This was unfortunate as re-calibrating the device was necessary at that point.
Now I have just installed PowerDVD for him and again the Natural Point software has been corrupted resulting in a missing language file error. KBdriver and mouse driver error messages were also displayed after the language file error message.
When I installed PowerDVD I shut down Natural Point before attempting the installation. System Restore doesn't resolve the problem. Reinstalling the software without uninstalling doesn't fix the problem. I'm trying to avoid completely uninstalling and re-installing the device.
Jack is running software version 2.51 on Windows XP. I don't know whether the hardware is compatible with the newest software.

Re: Missing Language File
I couldn't uninstall and re-install in the same folder either (continued to give missing language file and driver errors). Obviously the version 2.51 software does not do a clean uninstall and leaves behind inf files etc that mess up the program when you re-install.
However, I fixed the problem by re-installing using a different folder so nevermind.

Re: Missing Language File
Hello Leslie,
I started working here in late september and have not gotten to all of the older forum posts. Thank you for bumping this thread.
Your solution would have been what I suggested. Alternatively if you renamed the original directory, or removed all the files that should have worked.
I am not sure why the corruption happened in the first place and will mention the issue to our developers.
If the serial # on the bottom of the unit is 16400 or higher then the new software will work for you and I would suggest giving it a try.
Please let me know if you have any further issues. We do have a toll free number up at 1-888-865-5535.
Regards,
Kevin
