Jittery tracking in one specific area

Post by spotlope »

I'm experiencing a problem with my TIR3+VE that I'm hoping is fixable. I'm running the 4.1.029 (b4) drivers, and in both FSX and FS9, my view begins to shake and jitter in the one place I need it to be still the most -- looking at the instrument panel of my aircraft! I can pan left, right, up, and down smoothly, and can fix my view in any direction other than slightly down and right without much jitter, but when I look that direction the begins immediatly to shake so much I can't work any of my controls or radios.

In looking at my tracking screens, I see that when I'm looking in this direction, one of the reflectors on my VE track clip (the original, on my hat -- not the track clip pro) has a red area. I've attached a screenie of my profile setup screen. In any other view I get three stable green dots, but in this view, it's broken and has some red. Any clue what causes this?

thanks,
Bill Womack

It could be some dirt or oily deposit on the reflective surface. Try using some soap and water to clean the reflectors.

Yep, I wiped down the reflectors with soapy water, and now they track like a champ! Thanks, Vincent, that saved me some money I don't have right now.
